Julius Baer Makes Greater China Leadership Appointments

The Swiss private bank has in the past made the point that Asia-Pacific is its second "home" market.

Julius Baer has made a number of leadership appointments for its Greater China business.

Josephine Wang has been promoted to group head for Greater China. Rocky Mak has taken on a new role as team head for Greater China, effective 1 January 2024. Andrew Lam has joined as team head for Greater China, reporting to Salina Cheung, group head of Greater China.

Wang will report to David Shick (pictured), the head of Greater China and Hong Kong branch manager. She has more than 25 years’ experience mainly serving Greater China clients.

Mak, who joined Julius Baer in 2016, brings more than 10 years of relationship management and investment advisory experience to his new role. He will report to Edward Chow, the group head for Greater China.

Lam joined Julius Baer with more than two decades of experience in the Greater China market. Previously, he held leadership positions at Deutsche Bank and China Construction Bank Asia.

“These recent appointments are instrumental in seizing business opportunities within the significant Greater China region. With their wealth management expertise and impressive track record, these leaders will contribute to strengthening our presence in this crucial market,” Shick said in a statement.

In other recent moves, Jack Wu joined as group head of Greater China in September 2023. He has worked as a China market leader at Standard Chartered Private Bank, and also held senior positions at HSBC Private Bank and Credit Suisse, where he focused on serving clients in Greater China.
