Sun Life Names New Chief Distribution Officer, Asia

The new CDO has a proven track record of developing and implementing strategic distribution plans tailored for a diverse set of Asian businesses.
Sun Life, which recently announced its pact with Prudential, has appointed Patrick Wei as chief distribution officer, Asia with immediate effect.
Wei will be responsible for leading Sun Life Asia's distribution strategy working hand-in-hand with distribution leaders across Asia to deliver a world class distribution function founded on excellence, quality, and digital innovation, the firm said in a statement late last week.
Wei has over 30 years of experience in insurance distribution in Asia. Prior to joining Sun Life, he served in senior distribution roles at Aviva where he led multi-channel distribution strategy and implementation, delivered consistent growth for bancassurance partnerships and led the co-development of its Asian digital business.
Wei holds a bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting and economics from Simon Fraser University in Canada.
