UBS Names Former Senior Asia-Pacific Manager To Global Role

UBS has moved one of its top managers in Asia to take on a global role in the funds distribution field.

UBS’s wealth management business has promoted Adrian Schatzmann to be its global head of fund distribution, this publication can confirm. As part of that move, he relocates to Switzerland from Asia.

He has been at the Swiss firm for 20 years and has been based in Asia since 2007, being head manager of its research and fund platform in the Asia-Pacific region. A replacement for that Asia slot now left vacant is being sought.

UBS declined to comment on the matter when contacted by this publication.

Media reports said Schatzmann will take on part of the responsibilities that were once held by Rene Buehlmann, who used to be the global head of fund distribution in the wealth management arm. Schatzmann reports to Vittorio Schiro, global head of advisory solutions and Asia-Pacific head of investment products and services.
