The newly-appointed individual has more than two decades' experience of working on HNW propositions in the life insurance sector – an important route for wealth solutions in the region.

Utmost Wealth Solutions, which provides international life-assurance solutions, has named Samantha Wong as new head of high net worth solutions for Hong Kong and North East Asia. 

Her appointment took effect yesterday.

Wong has more than 20 years’ experience in the insurance industry, the last 10 of which she has spent specialising in HNW propositions and distribution. Wong has also worked in areas such as private placement life insurance and variable universal life.

“The interest in using insurance-based solutions for long-term wealth planning among Asia’s HNW clients is growing significantly,” Mark Christal, chief distribution officer officer for Hong Kong and North East Asia, said. “Her experience and strong connections across HNW brokers, private banks, external asset managers and family offices will not only enhance our existing partner relationships but also help us explore new business opportunities and build on our position as the industry leader in this space.”

In July last year, Utmost Group agreed to buy Lombard International Assurance Holdings Sarl – covering the latter’s European business. It was bought from funds run by US-listed Blackstone Group.
