Carey Olsen has appointed Shuting Zhao to join its litigation, insolvency and restructuring team in Singapore.

Zhao will focus on shareholder disputes and company law, the law firm said.

Prior to this, Zhao worked at King & Wood Mallesons in Shenzhen, where he advised clients in the People's Republic of China courts and arbitral institutions on a range of commercial disputes relating to cross-border loans and guarantees, equity investments, financial derivatives and share ownership. 

Zhao is qualified as a solicitor of England and Wales and holds a PRC Certificate of Legal Profession Qualification. 

At the start of January, the firm promoted five lawyers across its Guernsey, Hong Kong, Jersey and London offices.
