Law firm Carey Olsen has promoted Hong Kong resident dispute resolution and insolvency lawyer Dhanshuklal Vekaria (pictured) to the partnership with effect from 1 July 2025.

Vekaria, who previously practised in the Cayman Islands, joined the firm's dispute resolution and insolvency practice in Hong Kong in 2018. He has a range of experience in Cayman Islands, BVI and Bermuda offshore proceedings, advising and acting on matters including cross-border disputes involving both private and publicly listed offshore corporates in relation to restructuring, insolvency and winding up. Vekaria also has experience in corporate fund disputes, the firm said in a statement.

“His skill as a disputes specialist developed over nine years as a Cayman Islands, BVI and Bermuda practitioner provides the perfect springboard for him to continue to provide an excellent service to our clients in the region," Tim Haynes, head of the dispute resolution, insolvency and restructuring team in Hong Kong, said.

Carey Olsen is an offshore law firm advising financial institutions, corporations and private clients on the laws of Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, Guernsey and Jersey from a network of nine international offices.
