Standard Chartered Bank has renewed its commitment to philanthropic endeavours with the launch of a photo exhibit with famed Shanghai photographer Loletta Chu Lo.

The exhibition, titled "Beautiful Nature. Blessed Sight" is part of a series of ongoing charitable activities in collaboration with Seeing Is Believing, one of the bank's global projects which helps tackle preventable and curable blindness. The initiative has, so far, raised $150,000 and Standard Chartered said it is adding another $150,000 to the pot.

The bank has recently hosted similar events in support of Seeing Is Believing in Dubai, London and Singapore. In October last year, Standard Chartered was able to raise $30,000 in London and Singapore through various internal fundraising moves for the organisation. For the latest event, the bank is matching every dollar raised on a one-to-one basis.

At a private auction dinner in Hong Kong on 1 March, 40 photos were sold, along with a commemorative book. Counting direct donations, the evening generated as much as HK$3,536,560 and hit HK$7,000,000 after Standard Chartered gave its one-to-one share.

After Hong Kong, the photos will be on public display at South Block Piazza, Shanghai Xintiandi from 6 to 8 April.
