Bordier & Cie, the Swiss-based private bank, has appointed Jens Rzecasz, a senior banker who had worked at Credit Suisse in Asia, as head of Asian clients in Singapore, this publication has learned.

He is building a team of local professionals in the Asia private banking market, this publication understands from sources familiar with the matter.

The private bank, founded in 1844, has offices in Singapore, Geneva, Bern, Nyon, Zurich, Paris, London, Montivideo and Turks and Caicos. It has had a banking presence in Singapore since 2011.

In February, the Geneva-based bank created a London office, creating the structure Bordier & Cie (UK) Limited.

Bordier & Cie is owned and managed by the descendants of the founding families; the partners have unlimited personal liability for all the transactions entered into by the bank, making it one of a handful of such Swiss private banks operating under this structure. Bordier & Cie had more than £7 billion ($11.7 billion) of assets under management at the end of last year and employs around 220 staff.
