ANZ Appoints Acting CFO Ahead Of New Chief Executive Taking Up Post

There is a change in top-level management of ANZ associated with the impending arrival of a new CEO.

Australia and New Zealand Banking Group has appointed Graham Hodges as acting chief financial officer from next year, holding the position for an interim period as previous post-holder Shayne Elliott moves to become chief executive in January.

Hodges has been deputy chief executive; in his new role he takes over all aspects of finance along with group strategy, legal, treasury, investor relations and mergers and acquisitions, ANZ said in a statement on Friday. He held his current role from May 2009.

Among other senior roles since 1991, Hodges has been CEO ANZ New Zealand and group managing director for the corporate business.

A permanent replacement for Elliott’s old role is expected to be found in the New Year.
