The appointee, who will be joining from Citi Wealth, has worked in the wealth sector and related areas for more than three decades.

Allianz Global Investors has appointed Julie Koo as distribution head for Asia-Pacific. Koo is based in Hong Kong and will join the firm at the start of May.

In her role, Koo will report to Tobias Pross, CEO of Allianz Global Investors, AGI said in a statement this week. She is replacing Desmond Ng who departed the firm last summer, a spokesperson confirmed to WealthBriefingAsia.

Koo has more than 30 years’ experience in international wealth management and institutional business, across Asia, Europe and North America. 

Prior to this, Koo was head of partnerships and relationship management at AllianzGI from Citi Wealth.
