Asia-Based Law Firm Gets Name Makeover

The arrival last January of an experienced litigator in Hong Kong has led to the name change.

An Asia-based law firm with a dispute resolution and private wealth practice is changing its name to Karas So LLP in association with Mishcon de Reya.

The firm had been called Karas LLP in association with Mishcon de Reya. The change came after Kevin So joined as a partner in January last year.

So is an experienced litigator in Hong Kong whose practice spans a wide range of private and commercial disputes (including, in particular, trust/inheritance disputes, shareholder disputes and debt/insolvency matters) as well as regulatory investigations. He is a dual-qualified solicitor (in Hong Kong and England & Wales) as well as a notary public. He is fully proficient in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

The firm, which has more than 25 locally qualified professionals, launched its association with Mishcon de Reya in November 2021. Mishcon de Reya's local representative in Hong Kong is Kamal Rahman, a senior partner of the firm's London office, who specialises in private wealth and immigration.
