Atlantic Trust Private Wealth Management is re-branding its Pell Rudman and Stein Roe Investment Counsel businesses, according to reports in the US trade press. Both firms will be branded with the Atlantic Trust name.
Boston-based Atlantic Trust Pell Rudman, acquired in 2001, is now called Atlantic Trust PWM, while SRIC, which the firm acquired two years ago, is called Atlantic Trust SRIC.
Separately, Atlantic Trust, which is owned by the struggling fund management group, AMVESCAP, is creating a new in-house specialist group called the Speakers Bureau, in order to target intermediaries at educational seminars. The firm said that up to 40 to 60 per cent of its new clients come from referrals from intermediaries.
Despite being owned by AMVESCAP, which has struggled to retain major mandates in recent years, Atlantic Trust has done well at growing its business. The firm more than doubled assets under management to $15 billion in 2004, compared with $7 billion in 2003.
