Australia's Financial System Inquiry Names Wealth Managers To Panel

Financial Systems Inquiry names four, including wealth managers, to its panel.

Joe Hockey, the Treasurer of the Commonwealth of Australia, has announced the appointment of four members to the Financial System Inquiry panel, which include some senior wealth management industry figures.

The inquiry panel, chaired by former Commonwealth Bank chief executive David Murray, now seats Professor Kevin Davis of the University of Melbourne, Craig Dunn, the CEO for AMP who is stepping down in January 2014, Carolyn Hewson, former Schroders director, and Dr Brian McNamee, former CEO of CSL. The appointments were announced alongside the release of the final terms of reference for the inquiry.

In a statement, Andrew Bragg, director of policy and global markets for the FSC, said that the addition of Dunn and Hewson is a reflection of the importance of the wealth management industry. An international advisory panel will be named at the start of 2014.
