Australian Ethical Investment Expands Funds Range Into Small-, Micro-Cap Area

An Australian provider of ESG investments has expanded its range of products.

Sydney-listed Australian Ethical Investment, an organisation channelling money into areas that fit with values around social, environmental and other public concerns, has launched the Australian Ethical Emerging Companies Fund and made changes to its current fund roster.

The new fund is focused on small-cap and micro stocks, the firm said in a statement yesterday.

“It leverages the deep expertise of our investment team and 20-year track record in managing small-cap stocks within our Australian Shares Fund (previously the Smaller Companies Trust),” Phil Vernon, AEI managing director, said.

Separately, AEI is cutting its minimum investment amount for its retail funds to A$1,000 ($1,060). For those investors with a regular investment plan, they can access the retail funds for an initial investment of A$500.

Most of Australian Ethical’s products will also soon be listed on the new mFunds platform of the ASX market. Its range has also expanded to include the International Shares Fund and the Cash Fund.
