BMO Global Asset Management Appoints Nordic Sales Director

Bank of Montreal's global asset management business has added to its European distribution team.

BMO Global Asset Management has hired Otto Donner as sales director for the Nordic region, a newly-created position.

Donner joins from East Capital Asset Management. There, he was head of sales, Nordics, covering institutional, wholesale and retail clients across the Nordic countries, Baltics and the UK.

Based in Stockholm, Donner will report to Robert Elfström, director, Nordic region at BMO Global Asset Management.

“The opening of our office in Stockholm was a significant milestone in the expansion of BMO Global Asset Management across Europe,” said Elfström.

“Otto has extensive experience of the wholesale and institutional markets, which will put us in an even stronger position to cater to the investment needs of our clients and build momentum in the region."

His appointment follows the hires of Giampaolo Giannelli and Rochus Appert, who joined late last year as head of sales for Italy and senior sales director for German speaking Switzerland, respectively. Over the past year, the firm has opened offices in Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Sweden and France.

BMO Global Asset Management had over £160 billion ($231 billion) in assets under management as of the end of March 2016.
