BNP Paribas Wealth Management Makes Triple Appointment Move For Asia

BNP Paribas Wealth Management has appointed three seniors in Asia Pacific to cater to the region's growing demand for wealth management solutions.

BNP Paribas Wealth Management has made three senior hires as part of its Asia growth drive.

Chief operating officer at BNP Paribas Wealth Management Asia Pacific, Ernest Leung, has been appointed the additional role of chief executive of wealth management, Singapore. He will be responsible for building business development and infrastructure support across Asia Pacific, while continuing to boost franchise growth in Singapore, the firm said in a statement.

Leung will report to chairman and chief executive at BNP Paribas Wealth Management Asia Pacific, Mignonne Cheng, and to regional head for Southeast Asia and chief executive at BNP Paribas Singapore, Pierre Veyres.

Arnaud Tellier has been named head of investment services, Asia Pacific. He was previously chief executive of wealth management Singapore and brings over 20 years' experience in the banking industry.

Based in Singapore, Tellier will work with the region's relationship managers to enhance product capabilities. He will also report to Cheng and locally to Leung, as well as to global head of investment services, Olivier Maugarny.

Lastly, Stephanie Lair, previously head of investment services, Asia Pacific, has been appointed head of Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia. Based in Singapore, she will lead business development in these markets, taking the reigns from Serge Forti, who recently retired. Lair will report to Cheng and to Leung.

“These appointments demonstrate our commitment to harness proven global and regional strengths with product capabilities that provide clients with a relevant range of investment solutions,” said Cheng in the statement.

“I am confident that we can fully leverage on their combined expertise to create sustainable value for our clients and to support the future growth of our wealth management business in Asia.”

BNP Paribas has been focused on expansion in Asia Pacific and aims to increase its revenue to €3 billion ($3.2 billion) in the region by next year. As of the end of 2014, BNP Paribas Wealth Management managed €305 billion of assets worldwide.
