BNP Paribas Wealth Names New NRI Head For North Asia

French lender BNP Paribas has hired a head of non resident Indians, for North Asia, for its wealth management arm.

BNP
Paribas Wealth Management has hired a head of non resident Indians, for North Asia.

Akshay Jaitly joined the
French bank in late March 2012, based in Hong Kong. Jaitly
reports to Stephane Honig, head of Indian markets for BNP Paribas Wealth
Management.

He was previously global
head of private banking at Axis Bank.

Prior to that, he was NRI
market director for North Asia at Merrill Lynch Asia-Pacific. Before that he
was with Citi based in Hong Kong, Australia and Singapore, looking after NRI clients.

Jaitly will lead a team
of relationship managers dedicated to Indian clients in North Asia to
strengthen client service capabilities for tapping the high potential business
opportunities in the market, said BNP in a statement.

BNP Paribas Wealth
Management
is the world’s 7th largest private bank, with €244 billion ($319 billion) worth of
assets under management (as at end December 2011).
