BNY Mellon Appoints Two To Board

The double appointment brings the US investment goliath’s board count to 14.

BNY Mellon has elected two new independent directors, Linda Cook and Jennifer Morgan, who are veterans in their respective industries, to its board of directors. Both are newly-created roles.

"Linda's distinguished international career as a senior executive in the energy industry and Jennifer's leadership and client experience in the technology industry will provide BNY Mellon with valuable insights for its global businesses," said Gerald Hassell, chairman and chief executive.

Cook will join the board’s corporate governance and nominating and risk committees, whilst Morgan will join the audit and technology committees.

After 29 years with Royal Dutch Shell, Cook became, and still is, managing director of energy investment firm EIG Global Energy Partners, and CEO of energy investment vehicle Harbour Energy. At Shell, she was a member of the executive committee, CEO of Shell Canada, CEO of Shell Gas & Power and executive vice president of finance, strategy and human resources for global exploration and production businesses. Cook has served on various boards and is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers as well as the National Petroleum Council, an advisory committee to the US Secretary of Energy.

Morgan has been president of technology company SAP in North America since 2014, having previously served as head of its public sector organization and president of its regulated industries business unit.
