BNY Mellon Investment Management Names Asia Client Solutions Head

The newly-appointed figure will build out the firm's outsourced CIO business in the region.

BNY Mellon Investment Management has appointed Clarence Chan as head of client solutions for Asia-Pacific ex-Japan.

Based in Singapore, Chan will be responsible for building out the firm’s outsourced chief investment officer business in the APAC region. He reports to Doni Shamsuddin, head of Asia-Pacific (ex-Japan) of BNY Mellon Investment Management.

Chan brings over two decades of experience spanning active and passive investments. He was most recently the head of exchange traded funds at China Asset Management, overseeing the firm’s ETF business development and portfolio management across Asia. Prior to this, he was the head of ETF and ETF Portfolio Management, APAC at BMO Asset Management and a portfolio manager at BlackRock. He also held equity investment positions at Exelion Capital Management, Morgan Stanley Investment Management and Morgan Stanley Capital International.
