BNY Mellon Investment Management’s strategic business development group has taken on Dan Cronin as senior vice president, responsible for expanding the firm's RIA channel.

Cronin, a 25-year financial services sales veteran, joins the firm from RBC Advisor Services, where he was a senior vice president responsible for developing its custody and brokerage offerings to RIAs. 

In his new role at BNY Mellon, Cronin will be responsible for the market share of the firm’s investment management strategies and Dreyfus funds within its “most sophisticated RIA clients across the nation,” according to Robert Capone, executive vice president of strategic business development.

Cronin will also work closely with the firm’s RIA regional consultants, as well as its investment boutiques and other group businesses. He reports to David DiPetrillo, head of the RIA channel. 

Prior to joining RBC, Cronin was a regional vice president for Fidelity Investments Institutional Wealth Services, where he managed a team responsible for custody and institutional brokerage sales to asset managers. Prior to that, he was a vice president of sales within Fidelity Investments’ RIA group, where he sold custody and institutional brokerage services to fee-based RIAs with assets under management of between $50 million and $5 billion.

Earlier in his career, Cronin held numerous roles at Fidelity and Schwab, selling a range of products to RIAs as well as high net worth investors.
