Bank Of Singapore Names Ex-HSBC Figure As Market Head, Greater China

The newly-appointed figure has been in the financial services sector for almost three decades.
Bank of Singapore has appointed a former HSBC Private Bank figure, Eng Chien Chan (main picture), as market group head, Greater China. effective 17 March. He will report to Rickie Chan, head of private banking, Greater China, and CEO of the Hong Kong branch at BoS, the bank said in a recent statement.
With close to 30 years in the banking industry, Chan previously worked as market head for Taiwan and co-head for offshore China at HSBC Private Bank in Singapore. He has also held senior leadership positions at Credit Suisse, Nomura, and Citigroup, overseeing teams across global markets, and event-driven and cross-asset structured solutions.
“His [Chan’s] appointment further strengthens our Greater China proposition and deepens our coverage in this strategically important region,” Rickie Chan said. “In 2025, our Greater China business recorded strong momentum and was a key contributor to the bank’s overall growth. Our continued ability to attract talent reaffirms the appeal of Bank of Singapore to private bankers who want to be part of our growth journey.”
