Bedell Trust Appoints Asia Managing Director

Jersey-headquartered Bedell Trust is building its Asia leadership a month on from its purchase of a Singapore-based business.

Bedell Trust has hired Robert Ayliffe as managing director of Asia following its acquisition of a majority stake in Singapore Trust Company.

Ayliffe has been based in Singapore for the past two years, responsible for business development as managing director at Capita Asset Services, according to his LinkedIn profile. He previously spent over 15 years with PricewaterhouseCoopers specialising in financial services and working in Jersey, Kuala Lumpur and London.

In the new role, Ayliffe will focus on growing service lines for Bedell Trust and Singapore Trust Company in Asia. He will work alongside the managing director of Singapore Trust Company, Rudy Tan, and the executive chairman of Bedell Trust, Michael Richardson, who has led the expansion of Bedell Trust's services in Asia for the past five years.

Prior to the recent acquisition, Bedell Trust had a presence in Asia through its Bedell Cristin law firm, which opened an office in Singapore in 2012. Bedell Trust, which is headquartered in Jersey, also has offices in London, Guernsey, Dublin and Mauritius.
