Citigroup Names New Taiwan CEO, Chair

There have been a number of C-suite changes at the US group in recent weeks, including on the private banking side.
Citigroup has appointed Christie Chang as the new CEO for Taiwan and the chairman of Citibank Taiwan. She will be taking the helm from Aftab Ahmed, who is set to retire after 50 years of service with the US banking group.
The appointment, which is effective 1 April, is subject to regulatory approval. In the new role, Chang will report to Marc Luet, head of Japan, Asia North and Australia and banking.
At the moment, Chang, who joined the lender 35 years ago, is president of Citibank Taiwan and vice chair of Asia North corporate banking.
“Taiwan is an important market globally for Citi, and we are deeply committed to our clients, business and people here,” Luet said.
Citigroup first set up a Taiwan representative office in 1964.
The New York-listed banking group has made a number of C-suite changes; its global head of private banking, Ida Liu, is leaving after two decades at Citigroup.
