Credit Suisse Steps Up Onshore Chinese Wealth Strategy

The wealth management figure comes to the Swiss lender from China Merchants Bank. Initially, she will be based in Hong Kong.

Credit Suisse has appointed Jing Wang as head of wealth management for the onshore China market. The role is a new one for the bank, it confirmed to this news service.

In this role, Jing Wang has a functional reporting line to Francois Monnet, head of private banking for North Asia, with a regional reporting line to Zhenyi Tang, chief executive for China at the Zurich-listed banking group.

“This senior appointment underscores our continued efforts to build and strengthen our onshore platform in China, across all businesses,” Credit Suisse said in a statement.

Jing Wang, who will initially be based in Hong Kong, brings more than 25 years of banking experience in mainland China. She is joining from China Merchants Bank, where she started her banking career in 1994. She had pioneered and led the growth of CMB’s private banking business since 2007.
