DWS Appoints Senior South Korea Figure

There's a reshuffle at the top of DWS Korea.

Germany-headquartered DWS has appointed long-serving senior employee Lee Tae-Young as representative director and CEO of DWS Asset Management (Korea) Company, effective immediately.

Tae-Young will report to Vanessa Wang, head of APAC and head of APAC coverage for DWS, the firm said in a statement. Tae-Young has worked at DWS for 23 years in a variety of positions. He is succeeding Byun Hyun-Soo as RD and CEO of DWS Korea. Byun Hyun-Soo will continue as chairman of DWS Korea during the transition period and will continue as head of liquid investment strategy for the South Korea business.

Since joining the firm in 2003 as client coverage specialist for Korea, Tae-Young has steadily grown the DWS team, expanded client segments, deepened client relationships, and continued to deliver innovative, tailored client-centric solutions in this important market. Prior to DWS, Tae-Young worked in institutional client service at HDC Asset Management and began his career in coverage advisory at Kyobo-AXA Asset Management.

DWS had €1.085 trillion ($1.25 trillion) of total assets under management as of 31 December 2025.
