Deutsche Bank Names Former HSBC Figure For Southeast Asia Role

The newly-appointed figure, who most recently managed the Thailand desks onshore and offshore for HSBC, Vietnam and Philippines, will be based in Singapore.

Deutsche Bank has appointed former HSBC senior figure Paul Handley as managing director and a market head for South-East Asia (SEA) in the private banking arm.

Based in Singapore, Handley will report to Johanes Oeni, who is the head of the private bank in Southeast Asia.

Handley brings more than 25 years of industry experience, most recently at HSBC where he managed the Thailand desks onshore and offshore, Vietnam and Philippines.

Prior to that, Handley spent five years at JP Morgan Private Bank.

As reported separately here, Deutsche Bank has appointed former UBS/Credit Suisse senior figure Hugo van Kattendijke as head of external managers for the private bank emerging markets business. The appointment takes effect from 19 August.
