UK
Robin Budenberg has been named the new chief executive of UK Financial Investments, the government agency in charge of the holdings in bailed-out British banks. He joins from UBS, where he is currently responsible for senior UK client relationships. He is replacing John Kingman as UKFI head.
RBS International, the offshore banking arm of Royal Bank of Scotland, has appointed Rob Girard as island director, Guernsey.
A former New Star Asset Management portfolio manager, Guy de Blonay, is joining rival UK firm Jupiter Asset Management, in a move that sees him return to the firm he left almost a decade ago.
Pictet Funds, the funds distribution arm of Swiss private bank Pictet & Cie, has appointed Emma Stenzel as sales manager covering Southern England.

Barclays Wealth has appointed Andrew Tinney as its new chief operating officer, WealthBriefing can confirm.
Mr Tinney joined the firm in September, having previously worked at Deutsche Bank, where he was chief financial officer for its UK operations. He previously worked at Deloitte and Andersen Business Consulting.
SEI, the US-based global financial services provider, has appointed Mark Rockliffe as director of sales for wealth management to its UK global wealth services team in London, as well as Jim Clay as senior business development director for wealth processing. Prior to his new role Mr Rockliffe worked as a consultant to the strategic partnership team at Octopus Investments.
UK-based Heartwood Wealth Management, part of Heartwood Wealth Group, has appointed Kirsty MacArthur as relationship director as part of the firm’s expansion.
In this London-based role Ms MacArthur will be responsible for the introduction of the firm’s investment and wealth management services to new client relationships.. Ms MacArthur joins Heartwood from UBS.
London-based Veritas Asset Management, a subsidiary of The Real Return Group, has appointed Mark Rayward as head of private client business in the UK. Mr Rayward will be joining the company in April 2010 from Newton Investment Management.
Kevin Lecocq, head of Barclays Wealth’s investment and product office, has left the UK-based firm.
Quilter, the UK-based personalised investment manager, has appointed Mark Doidge as regional sales manager at its London office. Mr Doidge joins the firm from Scottish Widows where he was pensions development manager.
The head of Merrill Lynch’s wealth management business in Europe, Middle East and Africa, Eva Castillo, has left the US firm.
UBS has confirmed the departure of Middle East specialist Mahmoud Bakr.
Plurimi Capital, the London-based wealth manager which focuses on ultra high net worth private clients and institutions, has emerged as the new employer of a pair of Russian specialist private bankers who were latterly with Standard Bank. They are Sharon Thomas and Patrick Chalmers.
Aton Group, a Russia-based financial services company, has appointed Aleksey Ischenko as deputy general director, managing director for its wealth management division. Mr Ischenko joined the company from Troika Dialog Asset Management.

London-based Eden Financial has added to its wealth management team with the appointments of Alison Monk and Rupert Boyle, both formerly senior investment managers with Barclays Wealth.
HSBC has appointed John Flint as chief executive of HSBC Global Asset Management. Mr Flint's current roles within HSBC Group are those of treasurer and deputy head of global markets as well as head of global markets for Europe, Middle East and Africa. He will be replacing Mark McCombe, who has been appointed as chief executive of HSBC Hong Kong.
Succession Advisory Services, the UK IFA consolidator, has appointed John Kilburn-Toppin as a relationship director. Mr Kilburn-Toppin joins Succession from Cambridge Consulting.
UK-based investor syndicate Hotbed has appointed Ed Henson, latterly an investment manager at Kilmartin Property Group, as investment director of its commercial property division.
Odey Asset Management has appointed two managers from US-headquartered asset management firm MFS International to manage its new global equities funds. Michael Nickson and Simon Todd have been hired to run the new Odey Global Allegra Fund.
Rothschild Private Banking & Trust has appointed Penny Lovell – the former group head of business development at Fleming Family & Partners – as a client director for its UK private banking business.
UK-based Jupiter Unit Trust Managers has appointed Mark Ingram as regional sales manager for its UK wholesale sales team. Mr Ingram joins the company from Credit Suisse Asset Management where he held the position of co-head of UK retail sales.
Close Brothers Asset Management, part of UK Close Brothers Group, has appointed Darren Saddler as specialist sales executive. Mr Saddler previously worked for Standard Life, where he was business development manager.
The financial job recruitment firm, Execuzen has appointed Sophie De Ferranti to lead its new wealth management practice. Ms De Ferranti was previously head of private wealth management for the executive search firm Carpenter Farraday.
Principal Investment Management, the UK private client portfolio management specialist that is owned by South Africa’s Sanlam Group, has appointed Palak Patel and Robert Allinson to its investment management team.
Ms Patel joins the company's Sevenoaks, Kent office as an investment manager, focusing on direct investments. She joins from UBS, where she was also associate director. Prior to UBS, she was a portfolio advisor at Coutts & Co. Mr Allinson has been appointed senior investment manager to the London office where he will be looking after managed funds. He comes from Heartwood Wealth Management.
JP Morgan Asset Management has named Roger Thompson as its new UK head. Mr Thompson's appointment follows the resignation of Campbell Fleming, who is joining UK asset manager Threadneedle as head of distribution. Mr Thompson has been with the company since 1999.
UK-based Treadneedle Asset Management has appointed Kris Haber as head of hedge funds and head of North America. Mr Haber formerly spent 13 years at Lazard Asset Management.
Sarah Woolfenden, a former UBS private banker specialising in Middle Eastern clients, has joined Standard Chartered Private Bank.
UK-based Ignis Asset Management has appointed Barry Sturgeon and Daniel Haylett as business development consultants. Messrs Sturgeon and Haylett join the company from M&G and Hartford respectively. They will be responsible for developing service levels, providing investment.
UK-based Henderson New Star has made a trio of appointments following its acquisition of New Star Asset Management in April this year.
Simon Hillenbrand, Greg Jones and James Bowers have been all been given roles relating to the company’s distribution capabilities in the UK and continental retail markets.
UK-listed Liontrust Asset Management has appointed Simon Hildrey as marketing and communications director and Nick Pilkington as head of marketing.

Lazard Wealth Management hired Sharon Klein to serve as the head of the firm’s wealth advisory unit. She joins from Fiduciary Trust Company International.
Turner Investment Partners, a US investment firm owned by its own staff, said it has further expanded its private client group by hiring five sales people as external wholesalers, following seven similar hires in August this year.
The recruits are John Buckley, who covers New York; Andrew Martone, who is responsible for Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine; Frank McNamara, who covers Washington, DC, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia; Travis Sandberg, who is responsible for northern California, Oregon, Washington State, Nevada, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, and Alaska; and Stephen Topley, who handles New Jersey.
RBC Wealth Management, part of Royal Bank of Canada, has appointed Mike Dwyer as senior vice president – financial consultant for its Phoenix, Arizona office.
Chicago-based Northern Trust has named Joanna Stringer as the new managing director of its personal financial services business in Connecticut. Previously Ms Stringer was head of business development in the Nordic region for Northern Trust’s corporate and institutional services group.
Royal Bank of Canada’s US wealth management divisional head, John Taft, has been named chair-elect of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association for 2010. Mr Taft will continue to lead RBC's US wealth management business while assuming this senior role with SIFMA.
Evercore Wealth Management has appointed Tim Evnin as a partner and equity portfolio manager, a role in which he will lead the firm’s stock selection process. Mr Evnin was formerly a managing director at US Trust.
Stenham, the London-headquartered investment management group, has expanded its operations in Bermuda and the Caribbean with the hire of Paul Bailey as an exclusive consultant for the region. Mr Bailey has been focused on assisting advisors and their clients in offshore markets, including Bermuda, the Caribbean and the Channel Islands, for a number of years, and his prior career includes a ten-year period with GAM in Bermuda and London.
Wells Fargo Private Bank has appointed Susan Traver as regional manager for Washington DC and suburban Maryland. Ms Traver was most recently head of sales and marketing for Rockefeller & Co.
Chicago-based PrivateBancorp has appointed C Brant Ahrens as chief operating officer, replacing John Williams who is to continue as chairman of The PrivateBank Milwaukee. Mr Ahrens was most recently chief strategy and marketing officer, having first joined The PrivateBancorp in October 2007.
UBS appointed ex-Merrill Lynch wealth management top executive Robert McCann as the chief executive of UBS Wealth Management Americas.
Southwest Securities said it has appointed Charlie Willis as a financial advisor to its private client group, to be based from the Monterey office in California.
Mr Willis was formerly was a financial advisor with Morgan Stanley Smith Barney.
UBS Wealth Management has promoted Wolfgang Harder to be head of the British Columbia region, effective from 1 November 2009.
Mr Harder has more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, with more than half of that time spent in Vancouver. Most recently, he was a senior private wealth advisor and founding member of the UBS Key Client group in Canada.
New York-based Signature Bank has hired another private client banking team - its thirteenth to be recruited this year.
The team, which has worked together for the past four years at HSBC, is headed by Robert Sloposky, who has been named group director and senior vice president.
State Street has announced that its chairman and chief executive, Ronald Logue, is to retire on 1 March, and will be replaced by Jay Hooley, currently president and chief operating officer. Mr Logue assumed the post of CEO in 2004.
WSFS Financial Corporation, the parent of Delaware-based WSFS Bank, has appointed John Molster as vice president and chief investment officer of the bank’s wealth strategies group.
In his new role Mr Molster assumes overall responsibility for WSFS Bank’s economic research and investment strategy, along with portfolio construction for clients served by the wealth strategies group. Mr Molster was most recently a financial strategist with SEI Wealth Network.
South Florida-based Professional Bank has expanded its private banking and wealth management operations with a trio of senior hires from Gibraltar Private Bank & Trust Company. Scott Poulin has been named senior vice president, wealth management, while Philip Gassman and Daniel Martinez have both been appointed senior vice presidents of private banking.
The Colony Group, the US wealth management and investment firm, has made Scott Scott Swartz, a partner, bringing him into the senior management team. A senior financial counselor at The Colony Group and certified financial planner, Mr Swartz previously worked at the international communications firm Videocom.
Northwestern-based Frontier Bank, which is a subsidiary of Frontier Financial Corp, has recently appointed four executives to the post of executive vice president to lead the bank under a new business plan.
SunTrust Banks, based in Atlanta, has promoted Willem-Jan Hattink to executive vice president and head of private wealth management and institutional investment solutions. In these roles, Mr Hattink will run the firm’s private wealth management operation, including international wealth management, the sports and entertainment banking group, personal asset management and SunTrust Investment Services.
He takes over from E Jenner Wood, who held the post on an interim basis. Mr Hattink has worked at SunTrust for more than 26 years, most recently as business executive for private wealth management's central and Middle Atlantic banking groups.
US-based Mark Asset Management, a registered investment advisory company, has appointed Jack Hayflick as executive vice president of strategic planning.
Mr Hayflick has worked in financial services for more than 40 years, spending 29 years at Goldman Sachs’ private wealth management arm, and he left the firm in 2007.
Urban Renaissance Group, a Seattle-based property firm, has appointed John Bliss as its chief investment officer. Mr Bliss previously held the same role at Metzler North America and as a senior vice president at Unico Properties in Seattle.
Duet Group, a firm specializing in alternative asset management, has appointed Vladimir Kitaygorodsky as chief executive of Duet USA and also announced the launch of Duet's New York office. Prior to joining the Duet Group, Mr Kitaygorodsky was a senior vice president and founding member of the Institutional Equities Group at UBS.
Cincinnati wealth advisor, Mark Hogan has joined Madison Wealth Management as a principal and senior wealth advisor. Mr Hogan was a co-founder and managing director of RiverPoint Capital Management.
SunTrust Banks has named Willem-Jan Hattink as an executive vice president and head of private wealth management and institutional nvestment solutions.
Mr Hattink, who will report to Atlanta-based SunTrust president William Rogers, succeeds Jenner Wood, who had been serving in this role on an interim basis.
Dexia Asset Management, part of the Franco-Belgian financial services firm Dexia, has appointed Christophe Vandewiele as head of its Canadian office. He joined Dexia in 2005.
Tyche Capital, a US investment advisory firm, said it has appointed William Benson as senior manager of investor relations. Mr Benson is chairman of William Benson Group, a privately held, multi-national consulting firm specializing in developing innovative investment strategies.
Wells Fargo Private Bank has made additions to its teams in Atlanta and other regions. It has named David Edmiston regional manager for the Greater Atlanta market. Mr Edmiston will oversee all wealth management functions for the region.
Bank of Bermuda HSBC has appointed Richard Moseley as its deputy chief executive, a role which carries responsibility for its private banking operations. Mr Mosely takes up his new role on 4 January 2010. Mr Moseley is a 30-year veteran of the HSBC group.
RBC Wealth Management has recruited senior vice president and financial consultants Rhonda Smith and Lynn Syler to its Gig Harbor office in Washington. The team joins from US Trust Wealth Management/Bank of America. Client registered senior associate Anthony Fuertes joined the team as well.
Wells Fargo Private Bank has appointed a new regional manager for Northern Virginia. Shawn McElmoyl will oversee all of Well Fargo’s wealth management operations in the region. Based in McLean he will be responsible for private banking, credit, investment management, trust and estate services and brokerage services. Prior to this appointment, Mr McElmoyl was the company’s regional manager for the Northern Nevada and Lake Tahoe region.
Citi Private Bank has announced that David Bailin will join from Bank of America as managing director and global head of managed investments.
A veteran of Harvard University’s endowment has joined UBP Asset Management, where he will serve as the fund of hedge funds shop’s first chief risk officer of alternative investment.
James Simons, a mathematics professor and one of the highest paid hedge fund managers, is retiring as chief executive of his Renaissance Technologies firm on 1 January next year.
Oppenheimer & Co, part of US-listed financial services group Oppenheimer Holdings, has appointed Dan Scannell as managing director and complex manager of its North Carolina branches in Asheville, Greensboro and Charlotte, NC.
Washington DC-based Convergent Wealth Advisors has appointed Ron Albahary as chief investment officer. He will report directly to Steve Lockshin, Convergent’s chief executive. Mr Albahary was most recently head of strategic investment solutions at Schroder Investment Management North America.
MF Global, the New-York listed broker dealing in global cash and derivatives, has appointed Peter Forlenza as global head of equities. Previously, Mr Forlenza created and launched Outpost Investment Group, a multi-asset class global macro hedge fund based in New York.
US financial services firm Robert W Baird & Co, which is based in Wisconsin, has appointed Karen Ogard as a senior vice president for its new private wealth management business in Denver, Colorado. Ms Ogard was latterly a managing director and investment officer at Wells Fargo Advisors, and she is joined by two colleagues, client relationship associates Kim Church and Veronica Manary, in moving over to Baird Private Wealth Management.
Wells Fargo has appointed Tom Goode as a regional private banking manager after his having spent just four month as a private banker at Richmond, Virginia-based First Market Bank.
First Command Financial Services has recruited the head of USAA Wealth Management to join the company and help lead the company’s expansion plans, media reports said. Terri Kallsen has been named the new first executive vice president of strategic development for First Command in Fort Worth, Texas.
Chicago-based Northern Trust has named Patrick Everett as the new president of its North Texas wealth management operations, while also announcing the appointment of a new managing director for its Dallas office. Mr Everett was latterly chief investment officer for Northern Trust’s western region, covering California, Washington and Nevada.
Rhode Island-headquartered Citizens Financial Group has appointed two former Bank of America executives to lead key units of its wealth management business - an area in which the firm is looking to expand.
Thomas Fay has joined Citizens as chief investment officer and director of wealth management services, while Brian O’Connor has been appointed senior vice president and head of relationship management for the firm’s newly-created Premier Banking division. Both appointees report to Mike Millard, president and chief executive of Citizens Wealth Management.
Florida-based GenSpring Family Offices has appointed David Neubert as the president of its Nashville, Tennessee family office. He has over 17 years’ experience of advising ultra-high net worth private clients and their families on tax, estate planning and business succession planning matters.
Switzerland
Investec Trust, part of the South African and UK-based Investec Group, has named the new managing director of Investec Trust Switzerland. Paul Douglas, who has been working for the company in Geneva as senior trust manager and team leader, will work with recently appointed chief executive of the Investec Trust Group, Xavier Isaac, in the business’s 35-strong team.
Senior UBS executive Mark Branson will head Swiss regulator FINMA's banking unit, the Swiss watchdog said, in a move likely to reignite debate over close ties between regulators and large banks.
UBS has appointed John Bradley, the former global head of human resources at JP Morgan Chase and 26-year veteran of the Wall Street bank, as group head of human resources. Mr Bradley replaces UBS’s current group head of HR, Gery Brüderlin, who will remain at the Swiss banking giant in an as yet undetermined role. Messrs Bradley and Brüderlin will work with each other through a transition period, UBS said in a statement.
From 1 January 2010, Felix Lenhard will be Swiss private banking group Vontobel's new head of operations and also a member of the group executive management. Mr Lenhard has worked for Vontobel in various roles since 2001, most recently as head of IT in which role he was responsible for the complete overhaul of the IT platform, among other things. Before joining Vontobel, he worked for a number of years in corporate consulting at PricewaterhouseCoopers and as managing partner of an IT firm focusing on the development of risk management applications.
Collins Stewart Wealth Management has appointed Caroline Mansour as a senior client portfolio manager in Geneva. Ms Mansour will report to Glen Coxon, head of Collins Stewart Wealth Management. Mr Coxon said her specialisation in the Middle East will be particularly important in growing the Swiss office, which was opened in 2008. Previously, Ms Mansour worked for ABN Ambro in the firm's Swiss office as a vice president.
Patrick Wild, latterly head of private banking overseas at Liechtenstein’s VP Bank, recently resurfaced at Banque Louis, succeeding Martin Forster as the new chief executive of the Swiss private bank.
Geneva-based private bank Union Bancaire Privée has appointed Richard Wohanka, the former chief executive of Fortis Investment Management, as CEO of its new asset management and alternative investments division.
Philip Marcovici, partner of Baker & Mackenzie Zurich and chairman of its global private banking steering group, is to retire from the firm at the end of this year while retaining a role with one of its associate businesses.
Lloyds TSB Private Banking has appointed Michelle d’Ancona as regional director Europe Middle East and Asia and Value Segment director. Ms d’Ancona joins from Merrill Lynch Banque Suisse where she was Europe regional head and market leader for Switzerland.
UK-based investment company Martin Currie has appointed Dominik Issler as country head for its Swiss business, a role he will take up in early January 2010.
In this newly-created, Zurich-based role Mr Issler will be responsible for client service and business development in Switzerland. He will be working alongside Eric Bateman, director, head of European sales. Mr Issler is the former chief executive of Fortis Investments/ABN Amro Asset Management.
Europe Sal Oppenheim (Austria) has seen the departure of its to its head of equity research, Peter Szopo. He will become head of research at an unnamed Russian financial firm based in Moscow. The head of Central and Eastern European private banking for RBS Coutts, Andreas Schuepbach has resigned from the firm. Mr Schuepbach has left to pursue other opportunities outside the group. Gerhard Müller, CEO of RBS Coutts, will take over Mr Schuepbach’s responsibilities.
Nicolas Beyaert has joined Bank of America Merrill Lynch in France as a financial advisor, having previously been with Lombard Odier's private banking business.
Australia’s AMP Capital Investors has appointed Rob Verrion as head of European infrastructure asset management. He will start in November, being based in the firm’s London office.
SEI, the US-based provider of asset servicing and investment management services, has appointed Alexander van Aken as director of client services for the Netherlands. He will be responsible for all aspects of client service in the Netherlands working closely SEI’s advice and relationship teams in London and Pennsylvania.
Credit Suisse has named François Roussely new vice chairman of its European business; his previous role as CEO of the bank in France will be taken up by former ABN Amro regional CEO Pierre Fleuriot. Both are based in Paris and report to Eric Varvel, CEO of the EMEA region.
Isabelle Azoulai and Nicolas Goetzmann have joint
Credit Suisse as senior private bankers at its Paris office. Mr Azoulai has joined the firm from Aforge Finance, where she headed the family office unit. MS Goetzmann was formerly based in Luxembourg at Societe Generale Bank & Trust.

East
Emirates NDB Private Banking has appointed Ashraf Bajsair as senior director focused on the Saudi Arabian market. He was formerly head of private banking for Saudi Arabia at Credit Suisse.
Credit Suisse has appointed Promit Ghose from JP Morgan, taking up the post of team leader in Dubai for the non-resident India client desk. He joined the Zurich-listed bank in mid-August.
HSBC has appointed Youssef Nasr as chairman of the bank’s global private banking unit. Mr Nasr, who is based in Dubai as chairman and group managing director of HSBC Bank Middle East, is expected to assume his new responsibilities by February 2010, subject to regulatory approvals.
Standard Chartered Private Bank has appointment Anthony Rawlinson as head of private banking and office manager in Abu Dhabi. Mr Rawlinson joined from Merrill Lynch Banque Suisse in Dubai.
Peter Schaer, head of the UBS wealth management advisory office in Dubai, has left the firm after 24 being with the Swiss bank for 24 years. It is as yet unknown which firm he will be joining.

Teall Edds and Stu Wilson, senior portfolio managers for Stark Investments Asia, have left the company to establish their own fund venture, called Orchard Capital Partners.
Perpetual Private Wealth, the Australian investment services group, has appointed Peter Whitehead to the newly created role of national manager - fiduciary solutions. Has previously been chief executive officer of the Public Trustee.
Clariden Leu, the Swiss private bank, which is part of Credit Suisse, has boosted its Asian operations with three senior hires, including that of a new regional private banking chief, from Deutsche Bank. Chin Lit Yee has been unveiled as the head of private banking South East Asia; meanwhile, Soon Gek Chew has been appointed head of portfolio management and investment strategy Asia and Janice Lee has been named chief credit officer South East Asia
Citigroup has appointed Richard Macfarlane as the new head of its execution services unit in India. He has previously been head of the HSBC Private Bank's investment unit in Singapore.
National Australia Bank and Goldman Sachs JBWere have announced new appointments to the JBWere board. To assume the chairmanship role is NAB deputy chief executive officer and director Michael Ullmer.Stephen Fitzgerald, the co-chief executive and managing director of GSJBW, was named board advisor.
Jean-Christophe Steven has been appointed regional credit officer for the Eastern Hemisphere at Standard Chartered Private Bank. Located in Singapore, he will be responsible for credit risk management for all of Standard Chartered Private Bank's businesses in India, South East Asia, and North East Asia.
Fidelity International, the global fund manager, has named Michael Reed as the country head for South Korea. He has previously been the Asia chief executive officer of Standard Life Investments in Hong Kong. He replaces acting head Stuart Guinness, who steps down for personal reasons, effective the end of November.
Martin Crawford, chief executive officer of Labuan IBFC, has been appointed new Hong Kong-based CEO of Offshore Incorporations Ltd.
UBS veteran James Tulley, based in Singapore, has assumed a business development role within the markets business segment of the Swiss bank, focusing on the Singapore location. In this capacity, Mr Tulley will be working closely with the leaders of the business in Asia.
UK fund manager Gartmore has named Jan de Bruijn new leader for its Asian equities division. He will work under Chris Palmer on Gartmore’s Global Emerging Markets team in London.
RBS Coutts, the international private banking arm of Royal Bank of Scotland has appointed Paul Davies as head of private banking, South Asia, and he will be based in Singapore. Mr Davies will be responsible for the private banking business at RBS Coutts, comprising the Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and South Asia private banking teams. He was previously head of international business development and strategy at RBS Coutts.
BNP Paribas has appointed Peter Foo as senior banker to the Financial Institutions Group, focusing on sovereign wealth funds, supras and central banks in Asia. Global financial services provider Rothschild has hired Enoch Tan to become part of its eight-person Asia debt advisory and restructuring team in Singapore. He joined from the capital markets division of UBS Singapore.
The head of South East Asia at Bank Sarasin-Rabo (Asia), Reto Marx, has resigned. In addition, Edward Hsu, who headed up the Taiwan team in Singapore has also resigned. The destinations of either banker are as yet unknown.
Deutsche Bank has appointed Kenneth Kwok as the new head of private institutional clients for Asia ex-Japan. Mr Kwok was previously the head of corporate sales for Asia ex-Japan at Goldman Sachs. In his new role, he will be responsible for delivering Deutche Bank's global institutional sales and trading platform to ultra high net worth clients and expanding the bank's hold over the said segment in the process. Paul Rickard, the director and chief executive of CommSec, the online trading division of Commonwealth Bank, has left the firm.
Citigroup has named Simon Yoo and Jing Zhao as the new co-heads of its Asia Pacific Financial Institutions Group. Ms Zhao is currently the chairman of Citi's China investment banking division and is expected to retain this role. Mr Yoo is presently the head of the Financial Entrepreneurs Group in Japan.
Macquarie Private Wealth has appointed Craig Boss as its new insurance specialist. He has previously been with AG Private Advisory. He will be responsible for asset and income protection, life coverage, as well as estate planning and business succession. ICB Financial Group Holdings, the Swiss-based holding company for several banks in Asia, Africa and Eastern Europe, has appointed Tai Terk Lin as its new group chief executive officer.
Bank of NT Butterfield & Son has appointed Peter Hodson as the new deputy chairman of its Hong Kong trust business Butterfield Trust (FE) Ltd. He will be overseeing the development of the bank's trust capabilities in Hong Kong.

US money manager Neuberger Berman has named Tony Edwards as its new head of Asia Pacific (ex Japan). He replaces Brad Okita, who has been appointed to a senior, client-focused role. Citi has appointed Jonathan Larsen as the new head of Asia-Pacific consumer banking and global cards. He will look after all consumer segments in the region.
Russell Investments, the US-based financial services company, has appointed John Moore as the new executive director for Russell Investment Services' operations in Asia. Mr Moore will be relocating to Tokyo, where he will be responsible for promoting RIS' services in the region, particularly Japan.
ING Investment Management has appointed Paul Klug as its new general manager for Asia. He replaces Eddy Belmans, who has just moved to Japan to become chief executive officer of ING Life.
Yeong Phick Fui has been named managing director and senior advisor of UBS in Singapore. She will be focusing on ultra high net worth clients. Daniel Harel, who was formerly the head of the private client segment, Asia Pacific for UBS FICC, will become managing director and head of ultra high net worth, Singapore. In addition, Peter Kok, who used to oversee the bank's ultra high net worth business in Singapore, will assume the role of regional market manager, taking over from Mr Fui.
Malaysia's CIMB Bank has appointed Sulaiman Mohd Tahir as its new executive director, to succeed Tunku Dato’ Ahmad Burhanuddin. Mr Sulaiman will still head the bank's consumer sales and distribution division.

ING Investment Management has appointed Gilbert Van Hassel as global chief executive. He will report to Tom McInerney, who will take on the role of chief operating officer on the ING insurance management board, with day-to-day responsibility for all insurance and investment management activities. Mr Van Hassel joined ING in 2007 as CEO ING Investment Management Europe and will continue in this role until a successor has been found. He succeeds Jacques de Vaucleroy, who stepped down on 26 October to pursue other interests.
Guernsey-based fund manager Dominion has appointed Nick McCathie as managing director. In addition, Robin Fuller, previously managing director, is now chief operating officer, and Jason Le Roux and Teresa McFarlane have been promoted to operations director and finance director, respectively.
Guy Cooper has rejoined offshore law firm Conyers Dill & Pearman in Bermuda. He has joined from Reed Smith’s financial industry group, where he worked as an associate in both the Dubai and Abu Dhabi offices. Barclays Wealth has appointed Anil Kumar Nahar as director. Based in Bangalore, Mr Nahar will report to Barclays Wealth India chief executive Satya Bansal, according to a statement from the firm. He was previously working with Deutsche Bank as vice-president, Private Wealth Management.
Moscow Bank for Reconstruction and Development, a Russian-based bank with a private banking division, has appointed Evgeny Rabovsky as director of the company’s subsidiary banks department.
In his new role, Mr Rabovsky will be responsible for overseeing relations with the subsidiary banks as well as the expansion of the client database and development of the subsidiary banks’ product range. Prior to joining the company, Mr Rabovsky worked as head of commercial lending management at Santander Consumer Bank.
Third Rome, the Russian-based investment management company founded by Andrei Movchan, the founder and ex-CEO of Renaissance Investment Management, has appointed Evgeny Kogan as senior partner.
Withers Worldwide, the international law firm, has appointed Joe Field as senior partner for its business in Asia and relocated two associates from London office to Hong Kong in order to expand its wealth planning segment.
Mr Field has been appointed as senior regional partner – Asia and will be based in Hong Kong. He joined the company seven years ago, and for the last several years was firm’s senior international partner in New York; prior to that, he was the senior international private client partner at Bryan Cave. The firm also relocated Cindy Brittain and Philip Munro to its Hong Kong office.
