Former Barclays' Wealth Senior Manager Becomes New Head Of Bank's Ireland Operations

Barclays Bank in Ireland has a new chief executive, the bank said.
Barclays has appointed Sasha Wiggins as chief executive of its operation in Ireland. Wiggins, who previously headed Barclays Wealth and Investment Management’s charities and professionals businesses, succeeds Andrew Hastings, who in September 2014 announced his intention to leave the bank to “focus on other opportunities”.
In her new role, Wiggins will be responsible for the ongoing growth and development of the bank in Ireland, which includes its corporate, investment banking and wealth management businesses, Barclays said in a statement yesterday.
A successor for the wealth management division’s charities and professionals businesses has yet to be named.
“Sasha brings a wealth of experience and I am delighted to welcome her to Barclays Bank Ireland where she will lead a very strong and committed team that has successfully positioned Barclays as a key player in our core business areas in Ireland,” said David Farrow, acting chairman of Barclays Bank Ireland. Of Hastings’ departure, Farrow added: “We wish Andrew all the best in his future endeavours.”
Wiggins joined Barclays in 2002, having previously worked in the stockbroking area, and has over 20 years’ investment experience. She is a chartered wealth manager and a fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.
Wiggins will be based in Dublin and assumes the new position with immediate effect.
