Former Citigroup Senior Figure To Head Emirates NBD's Singapore Wealth Arm

The UAE-headquartered banking group has named the head of wealth management in the Asian city-state.

Emirates NBD has appointed Sameer Deshpande as its wealth management head in Singapore, the banker said on his LinkedIn page. 

Before Emirates NBD, Deshpande was global head of investments e-sales at Citi Global Wealth, at Citigroup, also in Singapore; he had served in various roles at the US bank since 2016.

The UAE-headquartered bank declined to comment to this publication.  

In July, the banking group reported a net profit of AED13.8 billion ($3.75 billion), up 12 per cent on a year ago for the first six months of 2024; income rose 0.4 per cent to AED21.4 billion and costs rose 12 per cent. The lender's Common Equity Tier 1 ratio was 15.4 per cent.
