GFI Appoints CIO, Frees Up CEO To Focus On Chinese Mainland, Overseas

The investment house has created a separate CIO role to allow its CEO to concentrate on leading the business and developing it in mainland China and overseas.
GF International Investment Management has appointed Chen Hao as chief investment officer, based in Hong Kong. He reports to Tom Ding, GFI’s chief executive.
Ding previously held the CIO role. The move allows him to focus on developing GFI’s coverage of mainland China and overseas.
Chen is responsible for formulating investment strategies, including for the firm’s absolute return and Hong Kong equity capabilities. He will also take a central role in providing professional advice for investment research and fund management.
Previously, he was senior portfolio manager at Value Partners. Before that, he worked for China Life Franklin Asset Management, Baillie Gifford Investment Management and China Life Asset Management.
GFI was set up in Hong Kong in 2010.
