Genworth Wealth Management Expands Investment Platform

Genworth Financial Wealth Management, a subsidiary of New York-listed Genworth Financial, has expanded its investment platform for independent financial advisors, adding eight new strategies to address three challenges faced by advisors and their clients.
The portfolio strategists joining the platform are: BlackRock Financial Management, DoubleLine Capital, F-Squared Investments and Forward Management. Meanwhile, Altegris Advisors, JP Morgan Asset Management, New Frontier Advisors and Stadion Money Management will add new strategies to the platform.
The firm has underlined the three areas where advisors need assistance as:
- Income distribution in a protracted, low-return environment;
- Additional investments to diversify and build wealth in volatile markets; and
- Choices which assist investors in “staying the course” to achieve results as financial environments change.
Among the new strategies are several multi-asset income products, which the firm said could help meet the needs of baby boomers as they approach or enter into retirement.
For those advisors seeking alternative investments, the platform now offers a multi-strategy approach from its existing strategist Altegris.
"The new investment solutions enhance advisors’ ability to help meet investors' needs, regardless of their life stage," said Genworth chief executive Gurinder Ahluwalia. "This is increasingly important as demographics shift, creating huge demand for income to meet everyday expenses in retirement."
Ahluwalia added that investors are now dealing with longer lifetimes, while funding healthcare over decades of retirement and providing legacies to family, as well as to others. (To view a recent feature on this click here.)
In addition to multi-asset income and alternative investment strategies, other products are being introduced, aimed at investors seeking to minimize the effects of volatile markets, preserve capital and limit downside risk.
Genworth Financial Wealth Management has over $20 billion in assets on its platform, with over 6,000 financial advisors.
