Calastone, the global funds transaction network, has appointed a former AOL European operations executive as their new chief financial officer.

Calastone, the global funds transaction network, has appointed a former AOL European operations executive as its new chief financial officer.

James Colquhoun joined AOL from branded video distribution company, goviral, which was acquired by AOL in January 2011. He spent 18 months at goviral. He replaces Jolyon Griffiths who has now taken up role of legal counsel for Calastone, a spokesperson confirmed to this publication.

Colquhoun has also held a number of senior finance positions, including group finance director at Mobile Streams and European financial controller at Cinram.

“James joins Calastone at a time when the business is evolving and expanding. We are listening to the market to ensure we continue to drive through our strategic goals and ambitions to directly match the needs of the funds industry. Recent appointments are intrinsically linked to that process,” said Julien Hammerson, chairman and chief executive, Calastone.

The global fund transaction network currently has 18 domiciles including the UK, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and Australia, from which it services customers looking for full automation of fund transactions.
