Insight Investment, a BNY Mellon company, has created a new role in Sydney.

Insight Investment, a global investment manager, has made a senior appointment in Australia, naming Rob Thompson as head of advisor distribution.

Thompson was previously head of distribution at PM Capital, and has held similar roles at Perpetual and Macquarie Bank.

At Insight, Thompson reports to Bruce Murphy, director of Insight’s Australian business. He is part of a local team of eight.

Headquartered in London, Insight has operated in Australia for over 20 years and manages A$38.9 billion on behalf of institutional investors.

The firm, which also operates in the US, employs 210 investment professionals globally.
