Golden Equator Wealth Grows Singapore Team

The fast-growing multi-family office has added two senior hires to expand client-facing and investment capabilities.
Multi-family office Golden Equator Wealth (GEW) has hired veteran asset manager Rainer Michael Preiss as portfolio strategist and Ritu Khera as wealth manager based in Singapore to expand capacity in client-facing and investment roles.
Managing partner Gary Tiernan spoke to this publication last month about regional growth at the firm as the pandemic shifts priorities. The firm is now talking to families in Australia, the Middle East, and Europe who want to set up a personalised family office in Asia under its multi-family office umbrella, Tiernan said. "This expansion will see us add more high-quality professionals to our team."
Preiss has moved from The Global CIO Office in Singapore and will focus on current portfolios and prospecting for new clients. His prior experience in asset management and investment strategy at international private banks covers the Middle East and Asia, including hubs in Singapore, Hong Kong, Seoul, and Beijing.
Khera has worked in private banks in India, the UK, Hong Kong, and Singapore and will focus on building GEW’s client relationships and acquisition, the firm said. She has spent nearly two decades in wealth management, most recently with BNP Paribas, with a reputation for supporting UHNW non-resident Indian clients.
Tiernan said the two share the firm's belief in supporting families "across generations" and being "entrepreneurial" in providing solutions. "I am excited to have these two stellar professionals join our growing team of experienced family office managers.”
Competing for business in a region traditionally dominated by banks, MFOs, such as Golden Equator have been ramping up services that chime with a new generation of inheritors who are less transactions based in their investment approaches.
