HSBC Names Head Of Retail, Wealth Management In Bangladesh

HSBC Bangladesh names a new retail banking and wealth management head following the departure its previous head in October 2013.

HSBC has named a new retail banking and wealth management head in Bangladesh.

Effective 16 February, Sabbir Ahmad assumes the lead role at the firm, after serving as general manager for integrated distribution for Standard Chartered in Bangladesh. He brings 15 years of industry experience to this role. He replaces Shafquat Hossain, who left in October 2013 to join NRB Bank as head of retail banking. 

HSBC opened in Bangladesh in December 1996 and currently has 14 offices on the ground. Its key business areas in the country cover retail banking and wealth management, commercial banking, corporate and institutional banking and global markets.
