The newly-appointed figure, who previously served in a senior role at UBS, has worked at firms including Deloitte, Noah Global Family Office and BNP Paribas.

HSBC Private Bank has appointed Francesca Chan as regional head of family and philanthropic advisory for Asia-Pacific.

Based in Hong Kong, Chan will report to Ann Ling, regional head of wealth planning and advisory, APAC, the bank said in a statement yesterday.

HSBC said Chan will lead the teams of family advisory and philanthropy advisory specialists across APAC. 

Chan previously served as executive director and senior family advisor at UBS. Prior to UBS, she worked at Deloitte Private, Noah Global Family Office and BNP Paribas. She began her career as an investment advisor with HSBC Securities in Canada.

The appointment comes at a busy time for HSBC; earlier in this month it made two senior appointments covering the areas of ultra-high net worth and family office clients.
