Hong Kong Regulator Issues Lifetime Ban On Former AmEx Employee

The Hong Kong SFC issued a ban on former American Express employee Lo Hoi Luen for fraudulent conduct.
The Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong has issued a lifetime ban from financial services on former American Express Bank employee Lo Hoi Luen after being found guilty of fraudulent conduct.
On 8 February 2010, Lo was sentenced by the District Court to 18 months in prison following her conviction of 30 counts of forgery. The court found that between 2006 and 2009, she purchased 51 Callable Accrual Notes for a client without the latter's authorisation and also forged her client's signature on the Product Offer Acknowledgment Letters related to the purchase of the notes. She reportedly received 0.12 per cent commission on the investment amount of each of the notes bought.
The SFC said Lo is "not a fit and proper person as a result of her conviction."
