India's IDFC Appoints Former StanChart Man As CEO Of Asset Management Arm

Mumbai, India-based banking group IDFC has appointed Vishal Kapoor as chief executive of IDFC Asset Management Company.

His most recent role was at Standard Chartered Bank as managing director, head of wealth management, India.

He is expected to be in his new role by September.

"Vishal will be responsible for driving accelerated growth of IDFC AMC, heading a seasoned senior management team including Kalpen Parekh, Anoop Bhaskar and Suyash Choudhary. In addition to his current responsibilities as MD - sales and marketing, Kalpen will drive the growth of portfolio management services (PMS) and international businesses, Anoop will continue as the head of equities, and Suyash Choudhary as the head of fixed income," the firm said in a statement.
