International Law Firm Expands Private Equity, M&A Practice In Singapore

Morrison & Foerster has expanded its Asian private equity practise with a senior appointment in Singapore.

Morrison & Foerster, the international law firm that caters to financial services firms, has expanded its Asian private equity practice with a senior appointment in Singapore.

Effective immediately, Shirin Tang joins the company as a corporate partner based in the city-state. Tang steps in from Shearman & Sterling, where she led a range of cross-border transactions and worked in the firm's New York office for almost six years.

The firm opened its Singapore office in early 2013 to support its growing client base in South and South East Asia, it said in a statement. In the same year, longtime Tokyo litigation partner Daniel Levison relocated to Singapore, while partners Jake Robson and Adam Summerly also joined the office.

Key practice areas for the Singapore arm include mergers and acquisitions, private equity, real estate, project finance, tax, FCPA and anti-corruption, internal investigations and dispute resolution.
