Manulife Asset Management Adds To Global Economics, Investment Team

Manulife Asset Management, which has operations worldwide including the Asia region, has named Megan Greene as managing director and chief economist.

Greene is to be based in Boston, as a member of the portfolio solutions group, which specialises in global asset allocation portfolio management. PSG manages more than $118 billion in assets and consists of more than 25 investment managers around the globe. She reports to Robert Boyda, senior managing director and co-head of global asset allocation.
Recently, Greene ran her own London-based economics consulting practice, Maverick Intelligence. Previously, she was director of European economics at Roubini Global Economics, where she conducted macroeconomic analysis and forecasting, with a focus on the eurozone. Prior to this, she was editor/economist, Western Europe, at the Economist Intelligence Unit.
Her appointment follows the recent hire of Peter Warnes as head of portfolio solutions group, international, a new role created for asset management solutions outside North America. Based in Hong Kong, Warnes leads a team of four asset allocation professionals in Asia managing assets for sovereign wealth and pension funds as well as retail clients.
At 30 June 2014, assets under management for Manulife Asset Management were approximately $281 billion.
