Maples Fiduciary Opens Hong Kong Office

This publication brings news of developments in the Asia-Pacific wealth management industry.

Maples Fiduciary, a division of fiduciary and fund services provider MaplesFS, has opened an office in Hong Kong, completing the Maples group’s offering in the region.

The opening of Maples Fiduciary in Hong Kong adds to the existing Maples presence in Singapore. The initial focus of the new office will be on Hong Kong company incorporations and corporate services. It will also provide the standard services offered by Maples Fiduciary’s offices globally, including directorships, trusts, board support, private client and accounting services, a statement from the firm said.

Charlie Sparrow has been appointed as the regional head of fiduciary for Hong Kong, overseeing the growth of the office and its services.

Sparrow worked in the London office of Maples and Calder between 2008 and 2011. A two-year stint at Ogier followed, before his return to Maples and Calder’s Hong Kong branch in September 2013.

“With the use of Hong Kong companies in the types of structures that typically rely on the Maples group for various services, the launch of our Hong Kong office is a natural extension of our offering across multiple jurisdictions. We are continually assessing and reshaping our business to address changing market demands,” said Hugh Thompson, global head of fiduciary at Maples Fiduciary.
