RBC WM Makes Senior Asian Hires

RBC Wealth Management in Asia yesterday appointed several senior private bankers across Hong Kong and Singapore.
RBC Wealth Management in Asia yesterday announced a number of senior hires in the Asia region.
The Canadian bank said it has appointed Ivy Ma, as executive director in Hong Kong. With more than 20 years of financial markets experience, Ma joins RBC from Standard Chartered Bank where she was head of markets sales, the firm said in a statement. Previously, she held senior roles at Standard Chartered and earlier treasury positions at DBS Bank across private banking, corporate banking and retail banking segments.
Jackson Huang has been named director in Hong Kong. Jackson brings over 25 years of private wealth management experience serving ultra-high net worth clients across Greater China. Most recently, he was senior director at Bank J Safra Sarasin, and previously held senior roles at DBS Private Bank, Bank Julius Baer, and Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management.
In addition, Malcolm Chai has been appointed as associate director in Hong Kong. Chai joins from UBS Global Family and Institutional Wealth, where he was co-managing ultra high net worth individual clients, family offices, and institutions in Greater China and Southeast Asia. Previously, he held relationship management roles at Bank Julius Baer and earlier positions at OCBC Bank and Credit Suisse across Singapore and Hong Kong, the firm added.
In Singapore, Shirley Tee has been appointed as managing director, team head. With more than two decades of private banking experience, Tee joins RBC as a team head for North Asia from the Bank of Singapore, where she was team head of Indonesia leading relationship managers in delivering wealth management solutions to high-net-worth clients. Previously, she was head of investment advisors and interim market head of Philippines at Bank of Singapore, and spent her early career at UBS as discretionary portfolio manager.
George Joseph, has been appointed as director in Singapore. He brings over 18 years of private banking experience in relationship management and client servicing across Singapore and Southeast Asia. He joins the global south Asia team at RBC from DBS Private Banking, and has previously held senior relationship management roles at ANZ Bank and Citibank Singapore.
Finally, Sindy Shi has been made an associate director in Singapore. She joins from UOB, where she served as a privilege banking relationship manager for offshore Greater China, providing wealth portfolio planning advice to high net worth clients.
The firm, which is present in Hong Kong and Singapore, has as recently reported maintained a positive stance on Asian equities, driven by tech and despite the Middle East conflict. It has been present in Hong Kong since 1969 and Singapore since 1975 - both of these are booking centres. Its wealth management offering in Asia includes banking, brokerage, wealth planning, credit, investments and financial advisory services. The business has an operations hub in Malaysia and is focused on clients in locations across the region including Hong Kong, mainland China, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and Philippines.
