RBS Private Banking Names South India Head

RBS Private Banking, a part the Royal Bank of Scotland, the UK-listed bank, has appointed
Ranjit Menon as head of South India.

Based in Bangalore, his role
will entail developing new and existing client business in Bangalore
and Chennai while growing the company’s presence in southern India.  Menon will report to Shiv Gupta, managing director,
RBS Private Banking, according to a statement from RBS.

“This appointment highlights our commitment to strengthening
our geographical presence in India,”
Gupta said.

Menon brings more than 17 years of experience in the banking
and financial services industry to RBS Private Banking. Prior to this, he was
with Franklin Templeton AMC, where he held the role of regional sales head of
Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. Prior to that, he was head of retail sales
Mumbai where he was instrumental in re-energizing the Mumbai and Hyderabad markets for the
firm.

He has also worked with Max New York Life Insurance, Kotak
Mahindra Life Insurance, Bank of America and ABN AMRO.
