Rockefeller Names Information Chief, Hires From BoA Merrill Lynch

The US firm, which is building out a family office platform, has brought in a former BoA Merrill and Morgan Stanley wealth management figure to join its business.

Rockefeller Capital Management has appointed former Bank of America Merrill Lynch senior figure Joe Ferlisi as its chief information officer, starting in May. His job includes work on the new Rockefeller global family office platform.

Ferlisi will be responsible for Rockefeller’s innovation, technology and information strategy and architecture as well as data security across all parts of the business, RCM said in a statement yesterday.

“Joe is one of the most experienced technology leaders in the industry and the key architect of many innovative and widely used platforms,” Gregory J Fleming, RCM’s chief executive, said.

With more than 20 years of technology leadership roles, Ferlisi was most recently CTO for global banking and markets at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, which he joined in 2016. Previously, he held the same role for field and client technology for Morgan Stanley Wealth Management from 2013 to 2016. He started his career at Merrill Lynch, where he spent 17 years.

He is a graduate of New Jersey City University and has a master’s degree in management technology from the Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania.

Among other recent hires, in late February RCM announced that it had appointed Michael Solomon as general counsel of its broker-dealer arm, Rockefeller Financial LLC. Prior to joining Rockefeller in March, Solomon spent more than seven years at FINRA, most recently as the senior regional director of FINRA’s New York, Philadelphia, Boston, and Woodbridge-New Jersey District Offices, responsible for the Examination and Surveillance Programs in the Northeast and overseeing a staff of 350 people.
