Rothschild's Private Bank Targets Advisors With New Unit

Rothschild Private Banking has established a business development team to liaise with professional advisors, lawyers, accountants and trustees.

This move comes after the private bank saw an expansion of the private client and charity business over the past two years, Rothschild said in a statement.

The firm has appointed Richard Jennings and Nick Barran, who both joined the firm from Global Asset Management in 2008, to head the initiative.

“We believe this is an opportune moment to formalise mutually beneficial relationships with other professional practitioners. In this environment, individuals and charities are increasingly tapping into the collective expertise offered by lawyers, accountants, trustees and consultants, working together with us,” said Gary Powell, head of Rothschild UK Private Bank.

Prior to his time at GAM, Jennings spent 17 years at Schroders, where he was an executive director of Schroder Investment Management and a director of the private bank.

Barran has 22 years of investment experience. Prior to his time at GAM, he has worked for Cazenove and Ivory and Sime, specialising in private client investment.
