Santandar Asset Management has appointed Adam Harnetty as head of credit research, European Fixed Income.

Santander Asset Management has appointed Adam Harnetty as head of credit research, European Fixed Income.

Harnetty heads a team of four fixed income analysts and will be responsible for enhancing the credit investment process and supporting stock-selection decisions for the euro and sterling portfolios.

He will be based in London and reports to Adam Cordery, global head of European fixed income.

Harnetty has more than 25 years’ experience and has worked for a number of firms, including Schroders, Invesco, BNP, Kleinwort Benson and Ernst & Young. He has worked across the full range of credit asset classes including investment grade, high yield and leveraged loans, and held senior fund manager and analyst positions.

The appointment follows a number of hires in recent months, including David Scammell as senior manager for the Sovereign Bond fund and fund manager of the Santander Asset Management Government Bond fund, last November.
