Senior European Promotions At Asian Asset Manager

Mirae Asset Global Investments, the Asian asset management company, has promoted of Hendrik Cosijn von Ripperda to head of distribution Europe, the Middle East and Africa (ex-UK) and Elliot Berman to senior manager EMEA (ex-UK) distribution.

Mr von Ripperda joined Mirae Asset in May last as head of European (ex-UK) distribution.

Previously, he had been with KI Asset Management, a London based hedge fund, where he was head of distribution. His career also included being director for Europe at Liberty Global Partners, the emerging market private equity placement group, and founding director of Mulier Capital, a London-based investment banking firm, Mirae Asset said in a statement.

Elliot Berman joined the firm’s UK team in September 2008 as senior manager, European distribution. Prior to that he was sales manager for Northern Europe at Morley Fund Management.

Myung Joo Park, managing director at Mirae Asset, said that both men played instrumental roles in setting up sales activities in Europe.

“It also reflects the importance we attach to Europe and the Middle East as investors are showing increasing appetite for Emerging Market products. We are well positioned for the launch of our range of emerging markets SICAV funds in the coming months,” he said.

Mirae Asset Global Investments is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Mirae Asset Financial Group and had $53 billion of assets under management as of July 2009.
