Singapore's Fullerton Announces Three Senior Appointments

Temasek-owned Fullerton Fund Management bolsters its equity investment team with three key hires.

Fullerton Fund Management, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Singapore state investor Temasek Holdings, has announced three senior appointments to its equity investment team.

Effective immediately, Jason Zhu becomes head of China equities, Ian McCallum joins as chief investment officer, while Craig Mitchell assumes the role of head of an Asia absolute return equity fund managed by the firm, according to a statement. 

Zhu takes a key role at Fullerton after working for Franklin Templeton Sealand Fund Management. He will be in chrage of the company's growth efforts in the China onshore market. McCallum, former chief investment officer of London-based Bedlam Asset Management, will take care of the global emerging market equiry strategies and expanding its coverage of emerging Asia. Mitchell joins from Capital Group, where he held various portfolio manager positions for 14 years.

The hires complement Fullerton's growth plans for 2014. Early in the year, the company announced that it is setting up an office in London and applying for a license from the Financial Conduct Authority. It also recently opened an office in Japan. 

Fullerton was established in 1989 as an internal fund management arm of Temasek, but in 2003 was transformed into an external fund house.
