Standard Chartered Private Bank Names New ASEAN, South Asia Region Head

The private bank has announced a change at the top of its ASEAN and South Asia private banking business.

Standard Chartered Private Bank has appointed Cedric Lizin as regional head, ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations and South Asia) private banking. Srinivas Siripurapu, who is in the post at the moment, is leaving on 8 October to spend more time with his family in India.

Lizin’s hire is subject to regulatory clearance, the UK-listed bank said in a statement today.

Prior to this, Lizin was head of wealth management and senior executive officer for Dubai at UBS. His roles have included those of chief operating officer, and building platforms in Asia and an onshore Japan business. Lizin will be based in Singapore and report to Didier von Daeniken, global head, private banking and wealth management.

Srinivas Siripurapu, who has been at StanChart for three years, has played a “pivotal role in driving the turnaround and strategic growth agenda for the private bank in the region", the bank said.

Andrew Ho, MD and market head, South and Southeast Asia, private banking, will take on interim responsibilities for the private banking business in the region until Lizin joins later this year.
