Swiss Bank Appoints Ex-StanChart Man In Singapore

The private bank has brought in a former senior banker for a MD role, based in Singapore.

Union Bancaire Privée, the Geneva-headquartered private banking group, has appointed a managing director in Singapore as part of Asian build-out, it confirmed to this publication yesterday.

The appointee is Jonathan Lau, who previously spent seven years at Standard Chartered. He has been appointed to its private banking investment services team, the bank said. He holds the role of senior strategist.

Lau, who has worked in consulting for businesses including Deloitte and Arthur Andersen, worked Societe Generale’s private banking arm, and DBS.
